A Fairy Tale Come True by Christian Louboutin

A Fairy Tale Come True by Christian Louboutin

Awhile ago I posted about the Cinderella Glass Slippers by Marc Jacobs, and they’re awesome because they’re actually real life glass slippers. On Thursday, at the Palais Brongniart during Paris Fashion Week, Christian Louboutin revealed his interpretation of the fantasy that is Cinderella’s glass slipper.

Although the Marc Jacobs heels are definitely more glass slipper-esque, these Louboutin‘s are undoubtedly more gorgeous and fairytale-esque.  I’d love to own the Marc Jacobs glass slippers to display in my home, but oh.my.gosh. how I would probably faint at the chance to slip my feet into these Christian Louboutin’s. You’d have to pinch me a few times to convince me it’s not a dream. Seriously.

These heels are designed with lace to allow for the transparent look of glass, but in a more modern and attractive manner. They are adorned with a butterfly on the toe that screams glamour. The heel, along with the smaller butterfies in the lace, are lined with Swarovski Crystals.  Christian Louboutin has certainly created a fairy tale come true for all Cinderella lovers. I am in love.

Teaming up with Walt Disney, Christian Louboutin designed these glass slippers for the release of Cinderella on Blu-ray this October.  Just for the record; if I owned these Louboutin’s there is no question I would slip my feet into them while watching the movie. Confession: I would probably get my boyfriend to slip one on my foot like Cinderella, just because that would be awesome. πŸ˜‰

Sad news: Only 20 of these Cinderella Glass Slippers will be made. This kind of breaks my heart.

You can shop more from Christian Louboutin at Net-A-Porter, Nordstrom, Barneys, Neiman Marcus, and The Real Real.

V.

Gosh, I might be swimming up-river here but I’m not crazy about these shoes. I, too, looked forward to seeing the finished product but they just don’t wow me. Maybe it’s the fact that the shoe covers too much of the foot? I expected something more fragile looking, delicate, something…
P.S. Like all of us shoe fashionistas, I also wrote about this in my blog and I ran a poll. Currently, the dislikes are winning.

Everyone has different tastes, so I completely understand why they may not be your choice (and the choice of many more)! That’s why there are plenty of successful shoe designers, because they all have a different style! Thank goodness for that!

I’ll have to check out your blog post on these CL “glass slippers”

AND .they’re something blue for a tad bit of tiridtaon. I’ve been eyeing these for quite some time and think it would be totally cool to splurge on a pair for my wedding day. Then, I would only pull them out to wear them on my anniversary every year when we go out to celebrate. Now if only I could find the guy ..hmmmmm lol
