Three Dixon Girls – my Nana (Elaine) & Great Aunts (Myrna & Rhonda)
Hello Lovelies!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I’m sorry I was not able to blog with you on Friday – it has been a hard month for me because my Great Aunt, who means so much to me, was in the hospital and sadly passed away last week. On Friday, we had a beautiful funeral service to honour her; hence my blogging absence. She was a very stylish woman and such an important part of my life, so I’d like to pay tribute to her today. Below are some pictures of her that I love.
Graduation photo – officially a Registered Nurse!
Getting off the plane in Spain – such a paparazzi shot!
Dinner Party – my Auntie Rhonda on the left
Isn’t she a beauty?! Her all time favourite pic of herself, and I see why!
At our cottage – it’s a party!

Rhonda Jean Dixon <– that’s my aunt 🙂 Rhonda: a Welch word meaning “Grand.” Jean: a Hebrew word meaning “Gift of God.” These are the perfect words to describe my aunt because she truly was a Grand Gift of God!
Besides the fact that my aunt was extremely stylish, she was truly an extraordinary woman and one of the most compassionate people I know. She is the epitome of giving ones life to serve others. She volunteered for 56 years at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (formally the Queen Elizabeth Hospital), 20 years making and altering costumes for Stage Center Productions and 10 years at the Toronto Botanical Gardens! Only someone with a huge heart and a vast amount of love to give could volunteer SO MUCH.
My Auntie Rhonda and I shared a special bond for fashion and sewing! I loved showing her all the creations I was working on – and she loved seeing them because she could relate to it all.
I will miss her so much, but am comforted knowing I’ll see her again in Heaven.
