Breakfast with The Body Shop at the Toronto Botanical Garden

I absolutely loved attending The Body Shop‘s breakfast at the Toronto Botanical Garden; not just for the great food, not just for the opportunity to test out their fall products before they were released (most of which have just arrived in stores & online), but because I got to hear, first hand, how amazing The Body Shop is when it comes to social responsibility. They are definitely a company many others should be looking towards as a model for their business and their personal lives. The Body Shop, Honeymania, Natural Honey, Organic Beauty Products, Organic, Make-Up, Lotion, The Body Shop, Honeymania, Natural Honey, Organic Beauty Products, Organic, Make-Up, Lotion,

One of the new fall collections presented at the media preview, was the Honeymania collection. The Sheka honey gathered for this collection is by the Beza Mar beekeepers, from a Rainforest in Ethiopia; which The Body Shop receives through one of it’s 25 Community Fair Trade Programs (read more about it here). This program helps support 260 Families from the Ethiopia Beza Mar community. The Honeymania collection will be available in stores and online October 7th . Keep your eyes open!

Talk about a triple threat! They first started campaigning against animal testing in 1996 and are still at it today. Animal testing is now banned in the European Union, but The Body Shop is still working towards getting it banned in Canada; where it is still allowed. How can you help? Head to any Body Shop location and sign a petition, or sign it online right now, here. I have!

On top of that, The Body Shop currently supports three charities: Polar Bars International, Pollination Canada, and Dress for Success. How can you get involved? Purchase this Dragon Fruit Lip Butter (only $6) and all the proceeds go to these three charities and The Body Shop Foundation. It’s simple, and you get a little something out of it yourself (in addition to that warm fuzzy feeling of giving and making a difference).

Let me assure you, The Body Shop’s products are just as good as their heart! At the end of the event I got a very generous gift bag full of fall products to test out before they hit the stores. I am more than pleased with each of them, and knowing their cruelty free when I put them on my skin is such a great feeling.

The new collections I had the pleasure of previewing were Honeymania, Colour Crush, Camomile, and the Dragon Fruit Lip Butter for charity.

A few of my favourite products are:

  • The Colour Crush Lipstick. They’re soooo incredibly smooth on the lips and the colours are so bold.
  • The Colour Crush Eye Shadow. They’re also amazingly smooth and I love pairing the neutrals with a pop of colour.
  • The Honeymaina Body Butter (coming October): Their body butters are a long time favourite of mine, and the scent of this Honeymaina one had me at first snif.
  • The Camomile Cleansing Butter: It’s like magic. I have a little too much fun wiping away my lipstick at the end of the day.

I urge you to head over to The Body Shop‘s website and learn more about all the good things they’re doing for our lovely world. If you happen to find a product that you want to call your own while you’re at it; well, that’s a bonus! πŸ˜‰

Wow, so many gorgeous photos! I just LOVE The Body Shop and all that they stand for. I really love the new collections too. Those lipsticks are so full of moisture, and I love the Honeymania line. The breakfast event looks so beautiful and sounds like you had a fabulous time!
