{ Christian Dior, Resort 2013 Collection – all photos from Style.com }
I find Christian Dior’s Resort 2013 Collection rather peaceful and soothing. It radiates a certain simple elegance that makes it so luxurious. As most of you have probably already heard, this was Bill Gaytten’s final collection for Christian Dior. He did an impeccable job portraying the “Dior Woman” in this Resort Collection, as well as, creating looks that take elements from the brands vast history; in particular Dior’s famous “New Look” of 1947. Nipped waists, full skirts, rounded shoulders, elegance, luxury, femininity, power – all of which have been signatures of the Dior look ever since the showing of Christian Dior’s first collection; and are evident in this Resort 2013 Collection.

I love your picks! This ian amazing collection. Where is BG off to? Has he signed with another house?
To be honest, I’m not sure why he isn’t staying on with Dior (but he had taken Galliano’s position for two seasons after he was dismissed…after all he was his right hand man); but Gaytten will continue to design for John Galliano. Raf Simons will be taking over at Dior and he’ll debut this July for the Haute Couture collection. Should be exciting!
Should be!! I have to admit I was sad to see Galliano go, but at least it didn’t damage the style π
Agreed!! π
I just love the silhouettes of all of these dresses. Just lovely!!
Agreed! They’re all so classy.
Lovely for sure! But um, that blue dress looks a LOT like the flagship dress from that 2008 Miu Miu collection… http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Mo1g-GS5K-g/T91WEBgr32I/AAAAAAAADRA/HD8KpbPnkfE/s1600/00180m.jpg
P.S., I’m hosing a giveaway today. You should totally enter. π
Yes, I see the similarities in the 2008 Miu Miu dress – a full striped skirt, fitted bodice, similar necklines – but they are still different in many ways, which makes them both lovely. The Miu Miu one has a much shorter skirt, you can even see the bloomers underneath, it has a seam line under the bust (which is actually quite a pretty detail), and an extra lace panel at the neckline. Great observation!
I’ll definitely check out your giveaway π
Beautiful stilish photos and I love the shoes !
All of these are soo lovely, but I love the first outfit and the first navy dress! Gorgeous!
