Fashion Takes Action!

I can’t think of a better way to help reduce my fashion footprint!! On the last day of Toronto Fashion Week, Fashion Takes Action (FTA) and the Fashion Design Council of Canada are hosting Toronto’s first high-end designer swap event!! Yes, that’s uber exciting!! We all get a little tired of our wardrobe every once and awhile…at least I do…and I think this swap is a great way to prevent one’s clothes from ending up in a landfill!! Apparently, each Canadian (on average) puts about seven pounds of textiles in the ground every year. Let’s help lower that number buy switching goodies with other fashionistas instead of throwing them away!!

Event Details:
Attendees must bring at least ONE item to swap in order to participate. Advance drop off is recommended, and admission to the event is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. World MasterCard Fashion Week pass holders pay $10. For full event details, including the purchase of tickets, donated clothing criteria and drop off schedule, please visit the swap’s Facebook page.

When: Friday, March 16, 2012, 10am to 2pm
Where: The Tents, David Pecaut Square, 60 Simcoe Street, Toronto ON
Cost: $15 admission, $20 at the door; $10 for Fashion Week pass holders
Drop off location: In the Tents (Receiving Area) David Pecaut Square (March 12-15 2pm to 9pm)

That’s too bad Jen! If you can’t find one in your area, how about hosting a swap with your friends??!! That would be heaps of fun!
