Home Inspiration // An Elegant Modern Farmhouse

When it comes to home decor, I’m a sucker for all white everything, usually contrasted with dark accents like a dark brown hardware floor, for example. I’ve never really been a fan of light wood; that is, until now. Because, wow, this house has me captivated. The fresh white paired with the lighter wood looks oh-so-elegant.

I’m also captivated by it’s rustic design elements; particularly the dinning room cabinets and table, the “I need it now” tree stump side table, and of course, the sliding barn doors (which I’ve always been a sucker for. I’m mean really…so cool!).

Normally, when I see rustic details like these, I automatically want to place them in a lake-house or cottage setting; but after seeing how well they fit into this house, I’m inspired. I may consider adding some rustic details into my own home also.

All of that being said, I’m not going to ignore the real reason I was attracted to this home tour in the first place: the bathroom. It really does take my breath away.

I have some serious non-negotiable bathroom qualities when it comes to my future abode: a pretty stand alone tub, and a chandelier. Oh, and I do have a big crush on his and hers sinks. In my books, I’d categorize them as a semi non-negotiable quality.

What design elements are non-negotiable for you? Let me know in the comment section below – I’d love to hear from you!

What a beautiful house and that bathroom looks like heaven to me. I could live in that bathroom. Love the inspiration!
