Confession: while it’s true that I’m a city girl through and through – I often find myself day dreaming about hiding out in a beach hut and becoming a surfer. Do any of you have similar day dreams or am I completely weird? I adore the relaxed vibe of the surfer style, and while I’ve only tried surfing a few times (and I couldn’t barely stand up for long) it was so much fun.
I was recently introduced to two surfer/skater brands that (as you can probably guess) made my thoughts wander to the life on the beach – relaxed and oh-so-cool clothing by Obey and comfortable and stylish shoes by Sanuk.
When I browsed their websites I was happy to find that even though I’m not a surfer, Obey clothes and Sanuk shoes can still be worn by city girls like me. I’ve rounded up some of my favourite pieces (above and below) that you can easily wear in the city, and on a road trip to the beach.
I’m always on the look out for effortlessly cool pieces to wear in the summer, and Obey is full of them. When the warm weather hits, all I want to do is enjoy the sun, the beach and patios – so being able to throw on something lightweight without much thought is key. Obey carries so many relaxed, easy-to-wear dresses and tops, it’s pretty much impossible to narrow down to just one favourite.
I’m not really sure what excites me more about the footwear from Sanuk – the fact that it looks great and it perfect for everyday walking, or the fact that the soles on some of their sandals are made of yoga mats. Yes, I said yoga mats. Why? Because they’re comfortable, squishy and relaxing – that’s why. Intriguing? I think so!
