Last week I attended the premier collection of Moose&Beaver, by Toronto designer Leah Anoinette, at The Burroughes building on Queen St. West. When I opened my invite, the brand’s name caught my eye, and won my heart. Moose&Beaver – can it get any more ‘Canadian‘?
Moose&Beaver is a ready-to-wear Canadian women’s clothing brand, ranging from $250-$1,000; including “hand knitted garments and original print designs and fabric manipulations to help illustrate and create [the] contradiction of soft luxury and raw deconstruction.”
As the models walked the runway, I couldn’t take my eyes off the textiles! Merino wool, alpaca and viscose yarns, distressed leather, and vintage fur … oh-la-la!! There were great contrast between the fabrics and styles that made wanting more. Leather and lightweight knits; long pants and booty shorts. Be still my heart.
Leah did a great job on her first collection – and this is one brand I’ll have my eye on!
Wow 🙂 This is a cool collection. Great mix of leather and lighter fabric. xoxo KJ
