I always thought that the whole collared shirt under a sweater thing wasn’t for me. I mean, that’s the kind of thing grandmothers would wear, right?
Then, one day I decided to give it a try – just for shits and giggles.
Lo and behold, this combination had me feeling great; with a refreshed sense of style. I was left wondering why I never tried it earlier!
I learned two things from this “surprise”
1) Don’t be so judgy
2) Even if you think a style isn’t for you, test the waters anyways – “just to see” what it looks like on you and how you feel. It could be the best thing since sliced bread.
Okay, now I realize I’m practically writing this blog post in idioms, so I guess it’s about time I got some sleep.
But before I do, I want to know: What styles have you avoided (for whatever reason) but were pleasantly surprised when you finally tried them out? I’d love to hear all about it in the comment section at the end of this post.

p.s. How cool is my hair!!?! Aylin Carolina did it for me; she’s a crazy talented hairstylist who’s done my hair a few times now (more coming to A Side Of Vogue soon). It’s amazing how much of a difference your hair makes when it comes to tying your look together.
What I’m Wearing:
Collared Shirt: Ann Taylor | Sweater: Lord and Taylor, old here’s a similar one I love (it’s one sale for a great price too!) | Faux Leather Pants: Reitmans | Coat: Zara, old (I adore this similar Burberry coat; but for a better spring coat, I love this one, and this one) | Handbag: Chanel (exact same one, pre-owned in excellent condition, here) | Sunglasses: TOMS | Earrings: Foxy Originals | Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Le Chateau (splurge on classic black Christian Louboutin pumps here)
