Last week I posted about the Dior Resort 2013 Collection (here), which was Bill Gaytten’s final collection (and a great one at that). Now it’s Raf Simons’ turn to take the stage, and he did just that with his debut as the new Creative Director of Dior; with his Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Collection. Without further adieu, here are my favourite of Raf Simons’ 54 looks.

Raf Simons made a powerful statement with this Christian Dior Haute Couture F/W 2013/2013 Collection. He stayed true to the history of Dior, offering clinched waists, full skirts and a feminine presence; while at the same time bringing a modern outlook to the brand and mixing these classic Dior style details with ones that are true to the designer himself – most notably the powerful streamlined silhouettes.

Dior himself used to refer to woman as inverted flowers, which is why Raf Simons brought a smile to my face when I saw the set of the runway show covered with flowered walls. A great tribute to the founder himself.
