Here it is, my first style post. Up until now, I’ve been reluctant to post pictures of myself on the blog because I usually only see the parts I don’t like. “My hair is funny” “I look too big” “I’m making a weird face” “I don’t like my arms” “ew, is that what I really look like?” I’m sure many of you do the same thing – and it’s not okay. It’s not okay because there are so many beautiful things about each one of us, and we need to stop picking at ourselves. Instead, we need to start focusing on the parts of ourselves we love. Today I’m changing the way I choose to think about myself, and I challenge you to do the same. Today, I step out of my comfort zone and publish an outfit post, something that a number of my readers have wanted me to do (thanks for the push!).
I have recently fallen in love with mustard – there’s something so bold, yet so soft, about this yellow that intrigues me. It also looks striking paired with black.
It seems as though spring has finally arrived – so it’s time to say “adios” to winter boots. As much as I love them, I’m ready to embrace sandals, flats, wedges and sexy peep toe pumps!
About a year ago I took a short course on sewing leather, and this clutch was my creation! It’s perfect for the days I don’t have much to carry around, or in the evenings with a cocktail dress.
What I’m Wearing:
Black Bomber Jacket: Jacob
Black Cashmere Cardigan: Lord & Taylor
Mustard Embellished Top: BCBGMAXAZRIA
Black Jeans: J Brand
Black Wedge Boots: Spring
Ring: Vintage Heirloom [my Great Aunt’s]
Clutch: made by V (that’s me!)
I’ll have more outfit posts down the road, so stay tuned! If you’re wanting more now, you can head over to my instagram or facebook for a few more style photos.
