When life calls for a dressy casual look, I know a number of people who panic. ‘Do I look too casual?‘ ‘Is this too fancy?‘ are two common phrases that get tossed around when attempting to find a balance between the two. Although it may seem like a challenge, it’s actually easier to pull off than you may have thought!
I paired a more casual shirt with a black satin skirt [made by yours truly], and the two compliment each other so perfectly! When it comes to jewelry; keep it simple. Save the arm party for another day (unless it’s a mini arm party of more classic pieces), and avoid jewelry that screams formal wear (although a nice big ‘diamond’ or ‘crystal’ statement necklace would look fabulous). Pair that with a pair of stellar heels and to-die-for handbag and you’re all set!
