It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for lace and all things pretty. I was on a hunt for casual summer dresses, when I came across this Under Skies dress from Mendocino. It has the feminine appeal I love so much; and paired with the oh-so-trendy neon, I knew I had to have it. Well this dress isn’t exactly the most casual of all dresses, there’s no doubt that it can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories. If you ask me, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear this lace dress with flip flops while wandering the city.
Neon is a trend easier styled with accessories than a main article of clothing (says the girl who wore an extremely bright neon pink sweater from Aritzia the other day – but who’s keeping track?!). That being said, Under Skies did such a great job with the design of this dress that I think they hit the nail on the head when it comes to neon. The lace overlay helps subdue the neon enough for it not to be overwhelming, while the neon piping adds an extra pop of fun to the dress. And, who doesn’t like fun?
