Target supports Canadian Designers + Sid Neigum’s winning collection for the 2012 TFI New Labels Competition

Target is set to open it’s first locations across Canada in 2013, and although they’re not here yet, they’re definitely making their appearance known to the fashion industry – and in a good way! There’s no better way into the hearts of Canadians than to support our country, and in this case the Canadian Fashion Industry!

Late October, Target showed support by sponsoring the amazing media lounge at Toronto’s World Master Card Fashion Week; and now they have announced their collaboration with Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) for the annual TFI New Labels Fashion Design Competition. The New Labels competition showcases some of Canada’s amazing designers who have been in business three years or less. Each year the winner receives a large sum of money (this year $25,000 Cash)  and a full page editorial feature in Flare magazine.

Target has now raised the ante; showing support to Canadian Designers by giving one talented winner the opportunity to create an exclusive collection to be sold in Target stores across Canada in 2014. If you’re a budding fashion designer, this is a fabulous opportunity! Contact [email protected] for information on how you can apply!

The 2012 winner of the New Labels competition was Sid Neigum. Here are a few pictures from his winning collection (last pictures is the designer himself).

That reinforces the great things I’ve heard about their approach to locating and building stores throughout the Country!
