If you’re planning a trip to Canada, and British Columbia is on your list, then my guess is you’ll be exploring Vancouver. While you’re there, you absolutely must visit Granville Island. Every time I make the trip across the country, I make it a point to venture that way.
To get from downtown Vancouver to Granville Island, I usually bike ride along the sea wall; however you can take a ferry or water taxi across if you’d rather.
There are so many adorable shops to explore, and a lot of them sell handmade creations from local artists. Plus, there is also no shortage of delicious food either – so make sure you pig out. 😉
If I had it my way, I’d take up residence at Bridges’ Sugar Bar! Their decor is so much fun, and their gelato is delicious. Next time I visit, I am having a gelato milkshake! Yes, you read that right – Gelato.Milk.Shake.
Don’t they have the most gorgeous bike paths!? (…Toronto, please take some notes…)
I’d love to hear from you! Have you traveled to Granville Island? What do you recommend others do/see while they’re there? Let us know in the comment section below!

What a gorgeous place! I’ll definitely be stopping at that Sugar Bar next time I’m there!!!
You did a great job capturing the uniqueness of Granville Island. The gelato is certainly mouthwatering.
The hammock shop is my favourite – definitely worth checking out!
Oh yes! That is a really cool store – I just need a place to be able to hang a hammock 😉
